With 13 NJCAA National Tournament appearances  - including back-to-back national titles in 2016 and 2017, Butler softball has established itself as one of the top NJCAA Division I progams in the nation.

Over the years, Butler Softball has established a strong winning tradition. The Grizzlies have been ranked in the NJCAA Top 20 in every poll since April 22, 2015. They have been ranked No. 1 four times, 2013, 2014, 2017 & 2018, and got all the way to No. 2 in the NJCAA during the 2021 season.

The Grizzlies set a softball record (all divisions) with an 88-game winning streak during the 2016-2017 seasons. That is the longest winning streak set by any softball program in the history of the sport. During the 2021 season, the Grizzlies had a 46-game win streak that came to an end at the National Tournament.
